Leasing FAQ's

Q: Can I ride outside of the arena?

A: Yes, you may ride outside of the arena in the tonto national forest.

Q: What if I am not an expert horseman?

A: All of our horses are perfect for any type of rider, whether you are a expert horseman or a beginning rider we have the horse for you.

Q: How old must I be to lease a horse?

A: Our horse lease is not based on age, but on your ability to safely catch, saddle, bridal, and ride on your own. We will lease a horse to minors ( kids under 18 ) as long as their parents sign the lease agreement and understand the conditions for approval.

Q: Can I lease a horse for a day, or for the summer only?

A: Yes, our ranch does a monthly lease program, and does not require a long term contract. If you have family in town you may lease a horse for a single day ride.

Q: Am I assigned to one horse?

A: No, all of our lease horses are on a first come first serve basis, if you like one horse over the rest then you may stick to that one horse.

Q: How long do i get to ride while I'm there?

A: Most people spend 1-2 hours with their horse each time they come. Although we do not place a time limit on riding while you are here, as long as you do not over do it.

Q: Can I still take lessons while I'm leasing?

A: Yes, although the price of the lessons are not included in the lease.

Boarding FAQ's

Q: What kind of stalls do you have?

A: We have several typs of stalls to fit the needs of your horse, and your wallet.

Q: How many times a day do you feed? Waht do you feed?

A: We feed twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. We feed a alphalpha blend pellet only, we will feed suppliments.

Q: Are the cheaper stalls maintained less?

A: No, all of the stalls at VJ Ranch are cleaned at least once a day.

Q: How well is the water maintained?

A: Most of the waterers at VJ Ranch are are automatic fill Nelson Waterers, thay are cleaned once a day to once every two days. All other horse waterers are water buckets which are cleaned and maintained once every day.
